Are Blood Bonds Dangerous?

Vampires have a number of strong and hazardous tools at their disposal, including blood connections. Your blood will bind them to you for the rest of their lives if you feed it to someone else. These ties, on the other hand, should not be taken lightly.

A blood bond will bind another character to yours in many ways, but it will most likely be a lasting aspect of both characters, so think about it before you make one.

System

To begin, let’s look at how it’s done. For each degree of the connection, a point of the master’s (“regnant”) blood must be fed to the intended victim, the “thrall.” Vampires of any Generation can form bonds, regardless of age or strength, and they are one of the few ways a character can dominate their superiors and elders. There are three degrees of blood bonds, each of which can only be formed once per night and has the following effect:

Level 1

This is the level of attachment that all Vampires have to their Sires: strong, intermittent sentiments for a regnant. There are no rules for this, but it should be roleplayed. Although negative feelings are possible, they are more likely to be positive.

Level 2

The bonded Vampire’s behavior begins to be influenced by the bond at this point. The regnant can now more readily influence their thrall, but the thrall must now expend Willpower if they want to directly attack their regnant. They are free to act otherwise, but the thrall will always be a part of their lives.

Level 3

The thrall is entirely bonded to their regnant in a tie that becomes true love after three drinks. As the regnant becomes the most important thing in their thrall’s world, all other connections die away. The regnant can now use Dominate without making eye contact, and while strong-willed people may be able to stick to their convictions, characters with low Willpower will almost certainly do anything for their master.

Breaking a Blood Bond

A blood bond is extremely difficult to dissolve once it has been formed. To break the tie, months of utter seclusion from the regnant are required. Alternatively, the regnant’s death is a more drastic technique that can have dangerous negative effects.

Although a character’s actions are controlled by their blood tie, they can use Willpower to resist for a short time if acting directly against their regnant or for a longer time if acting indirectly.

In Game

The first two degrees of a blood tie can be utilized to subtly influence the behavior of other characters, making them more susceptible to suggestions or manipulation. A full blood bond, on the other hand, is a sledgehammer that won’t go unnoticed for long. Because a character’s allies, or those who have an interest in the character, such as being owed a boon, are unlikely to take kindly to the character’s mind being violated, you should make sure you can get away with it unless you have no other option.

Other motives for using a blood tie may exist, although control is the most likely. It might also be employed as a form of punishment, to solidify a bond or alliance, or as a form of protection from the thrall. In any case, blood bonding is a tool that must be carefully considered and planned, or it will end up posing more risks to the regnant than it is worth.

What is the purpose of a blood bond?

The Loop is the final DLC for Dead Cells. A Blood Bond, also known as a Blood Oath, the Coeur-Vrai, or the Coils of Apep, is a supernatural relationship of fidelity and dependency between one person (the thrall) and a vampire (the regnant), produced and sustained by the drinking of vitae repeatedly.

What is the duration of a blood bond?

The blood bond is a magical bond formed between two people when one consumes the blood of the other. One of these people must be Kindred, but the other may be anything. This relationship bestows strength on the vampire whose blood was consumed (also known as the regnant or sire) (the thrall). The regnant has emotional control over the thrall because of the blood tie. The thrall is likely to have strong feelings of admiration for the regnant and a strong want to be near them. The thrall will do practically anything for the regnant once they are completely under their influence. As a result, thralls make ideal servants since they are obedient and unthinking. The blood link is exemplified by ghouls. Though the details alter between the two Kindred, the basic premise remains the same.

A single drink of a Kindred’s blood will have certain effects. The thrall will feel compelled to be close to their regnant. This tie is not as strong as a full blood bond, yet it breaks in the same period of time. A thrall must drink the regnant’s blood at least three times in a short amount of time for a blood link to acquire full intensity. The relationship between the thrall and the drinker grows stronger with each drink. The emotional bond between the thrall and their regnant is even stronger the second time they drink. The third time binds them completely to their regnant’s service.

Blood connections must be maintained by further, recurring blood dosages even after the thrall has drunk three times. The regnants blood takes around a month to exit the thrall’s system. The relationship will begin to break down after that if they do not swallow their regnant’s blood again. The thrall enters a time of withdrawal when the regnant’s blood is fading from their system, during which they may implore their regnant for more blood or, if they are unavailable, seek them out relentlessly until they are fully free of the tie.

It’s quite tough to break a blood bond. Blood ties can be severed over time or by the regnant’s death. Breaking a tie is difficult for kine, however not drinking the regnant’s blood is sufficient. It is not so straightforward for blood-bound Kindred. They must keep a physical and mental distance from their regnant in addition to refraining from their regnant’s blood. The emotional and mental repercussions of the relationship might last up to a year. The relationship is actually destroyed when these effects disappear.

Even in the modern world, blood links are widespread, and they are sometimes used to bring an unruly Kindred to heel. Blood connections are frequently used by some sects, such as the Sabbat, to ensure devotion. The sire and childe relationship is another example of a blood link. During the Embrace, they develop a strong, but typically brief, blood tie that lasts for a short time afterward. This provides the sire a level of control over the fledgling that goes beyond necessary. When a ghoul is sired, he or she is normally forced to serve their sire as a blood slave.

What happens if a blood oath is broken?

A blood oath is designed to remain forever, or until one party dies in the case of mortals. The alpha, on the other hand, has the power to break the pledge that binds the secondary member to them; there have been no documented incidents of the bond being broken honorably throughout history.

The act of severing someone’s oath has an air of dishonor about it; it’s a huge insult and punishment, and because it’s blood magic, an involuntary breaking of the oath is physically painful and can leave a person gasping for air and shocked. It appears that in order to dishonorably terminate a blood oath, it is required to indicate explicitly that the blood-sworn is freed with dishonor.

By blatantly disobeying a straight command or directive, a beta can break the pledge without the alpha’s knowledge. The beta, on the other hand, is put under a lot of stress by this method, and while they could be powerful enough to break the pledge on their own, they will die from the shock. A beta can survive this severance in an instant, before their strength fails them, by swearing the blood oath to someone else, thereby “healing” what has been broken within them.

When you break an oath, what happens?

Perjury occurs when an oath (or affirmation) is broken. 2.Any person who, while taking and subscribing to an oath or affirmation, asserts as true any material matter that he or she knows to be false commits perjury and is sentenced to two, three, or four years in a state prison.
